The Inhumans and X-Men have finally finished their fighting and it’s hard to say if there was a winning side or even a winner who could have had the moral high ground. Maybe that was the point, a grand gesture in excising the status quo. Either way, we’re off to a new beginning with some of our favourite X-men coming back together to do what heroes should do, make the world a better place. Even if that world doesn’t want them. I’ll keep the spoilers to a minimum for this issue as I usually do but be warned I will talk about small plot points through my review of the base story of this issue and IvX. Here we go, time for another X-Men event that will shake their position in the Marvel Universe. Taking place before the still ongoing Civil War II event, Death of X is going to tell the story of what is obviously stated in the title, the death of the X-Men; or maybe just the tying up of a few loose ends. Before we get into this issue, you should know about the effect the Terrigen mist has on mutants. It afflicts the mutant race with a disease called M-Pox, which is lethal to mutants. In a few books we’ve already seen it’s effects on Rogue in Uncanny Avengers and at the beginning of this book, the effect on our Uncanny X-Men. X-Men Apocalypse came to theaters May 19th 2016, as with most comic book movies I went to see it day one. I’ll admit that good, bad, or just plain terrible, I’ll pay to see every comic book movie in theaters because I love them; or at least I try my hardest to love them. This latest X-Men movie though, it’s left me fatigued and losing hope in the X-men franchise.
